HAVACO ECH-NI/NV/NIS electric duct heaters
ECH NI/NV/NIS HAVACO is a series of electric duct heaters with a built-in automation system containing a heater power regulator. The regulation takes place on the basis of pulsation. The time between switching on and off the heaters is adjusted by the regulator so as to ensure that the set temperature value is maintained. NV/NI/NIS series differ in the way the target value is set:
- - NI - Temperature setting by means of a potentiometer located on the heater housing.
- - NV - Temperature setting by means of an external HR5K referencing device.
- - NIS - Temperature setting by means of an external 0-10V control signal, e.g. a signal from the control panel automation or BMS system.
ECH heaters are designed for installation in round ducts. They are available in typical ventilation diameters from 100 to 500 mm and capacities from 0.3 to 24.0 kW. Each heater has a two-stage overheating protection:
- - I stage at 50°C - automatic reset.
- - II stage at 100°C - manual reset required.

Electric heaters are designed to heat clean air. The casing is made of aluzinc, resistant to elevated temperatures. Heating elements are made of acid-resistant steel AISI 304.The heater has 2 safety thermostats, and screw terminals, connection ferrules are equipped with a gasket. The heaters can be mounted horizontally and vertically. The maximum output temperature is 50°C.
- NI - temperature setting by means of a potentiometer located on the heater casing
- NV - temperature setting by means of external HR5K adjuster
- NIS - temperature setting by an external 0-10V control signal
External sensors to be purchased separately.
Use
Duct heaters are used to heat clean air in domestic ventilation systems, especially in autumn and winter, as well as in industrial installations requiring constant supply air temperature. ECH heaters also perform well as preheaters or secondary heaters, supplementing installations based on heat recovery air handling units.
Construction
The heater casing is made of steel sheet covered with a high-quality coating of Aluzinc, which guarantees high corrosion resistance. The connection stubs are made in negative tolerance and have an EPDM gasket. The heating elements are made of AISI 304 stainless steel. The junction box has an IP44 degree of protection.
Installation
Heaters can be mounted in any position, except with the junction box facing down. If there is a possibility of accidental contact with the heating elements, appropriate guards must be used. The speed of air flowing through the heater must not be less than 1.5 m/s. The flow of explosive or aggressive gases is prohibited. Heaters may only be used to heat clean air. The devices are intended for indoor installations.
Electrical connection
The electrical connection must be made by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable national and international regulations. The power source and power cord must be in accordance with the data on the heater nameplate. The circuit breaker must be selected according to the technical data. The heater must be grounded.
