HAVACO ECH-NI PTX/PSX electric duct heaters
ECH NI PTX/PSX HAVACO is a series of electric duct heaters with a built-in automation system containing a heater power regulator and a flow sensor (PTX) and pressure switch (PSX). The control is based on the pulsation principle. The time between switching on and off the heaters is adjusted by the controller so as to ensure that the set temperature value is maintained. Temperature setting is carried out by a potentiometer located on the heater housing. In the absence of air flow, the heating function is switched off, regardless of the air temperature behind the heater. ECH heaters are designed for installation in circular ducts. They are available in typical ventilation diameters from 100 to 500 mm and powers from 0.3 to 24.0 kW.
Each heater has a two-stage overheating protection:
- I stage at 50°C - automatic reset.
- II stage at 100°C - manual reset required.

Electric heaters are designed to heat clean air. The casing is made of aluzinc, resistant to elevated temperatures. The heating elements are made of stainless steel. The heater has 2 safety thermostats, and screw terminals, the connection ferrules are equipped with a gasket. The heaters can be mounted horizontally and vertically. The maximum output temperature is 50°C.
Use
Duct heaters are used to heat clean air in domestic ventilation systems, especially in autumn and winter, as well as in industrial installations requiring constant supply air temperature. ECH heaters also perform well as preheaters or secondary heaters, supplementing installations based on heat recovery air handling units.
Construction
The heater casing is made of steel sheet covered with high-quality Aluzinc coating, which guarantees high corrosion resistance.The connection spigots are made in negative tolerance and have an EPDM gasket. Heating elements are made of AISI 304 stainless steel.
The junction box has an IP44 protection rating.
Installation
Heaters can be mounted in any position, except with the junction box facing down. If there is a possibility of accidental contact with the heating elements, appropriate guards must be used. The speed of air flowing through the heater must not be less than 1.5 m/s. The flow of explosive or aggressive gases is prohibited. Heaters may only be used to heat clean air. The devices are intended for indoor installations.
Electrical connection
The electrical connection must be made by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable national and international regulations. The power source and power cord must be in accordance with the data on the heater nameplate. The circuit breaker must be selected according to the technical data. The heater must be grounded.
